Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Olpejeta Conservancy (208 km – 3 to 4 hours)

You will be collected from your accommodation or residence in Nairobi, read to be driven to the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy. A former cattle ranch, it’s now a sanctuary for some of the few remaining black rhinos in the world, seeking shelter from those who wish to hunt them for their horns.

The only chimpanzee population in Kenya resides in the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee sanctuary. Here, you can come face to face with our closest cousins and witness the great conservation work undertaken at the park.

The park is filled with plenty of other wildlife, and you will have chance to spend time driving around the park in your vehicle to see the animals in their natural habitat, up here on the Laikipia Plateau. After you’ve sated your appetite for natural beauty, you will overnight at your camp or lodge, where dinner is served.

Included in your first day of your African safari is:

  • Accommodation at your camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 2 Full Day in Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast has been served at your accommodation, you have a second day to explore the wonder of the work done at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Outside of the Kenyan National Park system yet internationally recognised for its conservation efforts, the last two northern white rhinos in the world are currently housed here.

Your game drive through the park will give you plenty of opportunity to see the big five of African safari, along with other rare and endangered species, such as:

  • The African wild dogs
  • Grevy’s zebras
  • Cheetahs
  • Jackson’s hartebeest

As well as the more common animals of the savannas of Kenya.

Lunch will be served picnic style within the park to allow you to cover as much ground as possible, and spot as many animals as you can. Afternoon game drives will take you further through the park and on your voyage of discovery.

The evening will see you return to your camp or lodge, where you can rest, relax, and take your evening meal. The second day of your African safari includes:

After some time to settle, you can eat lunch at your camp or lodge. In the afternoon, your guide will confirm the following day’s itinerary and give you the opportunity to add any optional extras to your Kenyan safari.

Spa treatments are an optional extra available at most accommodation options, could there be a more perfect setting to have a relaxing massage, surrounded by the wonders of Mother Nature?

Visiting a Masai village is another optional extra; a chance to explore the culture of these warriors who have a deep and symbiotic relationship with the lands and animals of the Masai Mara. The savanna rolls behind the horizon and is dotted with herds of gazelle, buffalo, zebra, and more as well as big cats like lions and leopards that your wildlife safari guide will expertly track and identify with you.

Lunch is served picnic style so you don’t miss a moment in this most epic of African safari landscapes. With millions of mammals, and hundred of bird species making the Amboseli home, you’re sure to see the animals you adore, as well as have the chance to fall in love with ones you never new existed.
